      What does "Seersucker" mean?

      The name seersucker comes from the Persian word "shir o shekar", which means "milk and sugar" and refers to the texture of the fabric. Characteristic of seersucker bedding is the crinkled surface structure, which is alternately interspersed with smooth and gathered stripes. This is created by the different tension of the threads during the weaving process. Apart from the weaving method, there are other ways to achieve the typical seersucker gathering, such as by using yarns that shrink or stretch differently, or by using caustic soda to make the fabric swell in certain places.

      When choosing seersucker bedding, various factors can be decisive. These include, for example, the material from which the bedding was made.
